Tonia Ellis for 1st Vice Professional

Hello, my name is Tonia. I have been a proud
member of the American Federation of
Government Employees (AFGE) for the vast
majority of my 13 years as an employee of the
Veterans Health Administration. Additionally, I
served honorably for over nine years in the
United States Air Force, where I was awarded
several service medals and deployed on
multiple missions, particularly in the Middle
East.
The discipline and leadership skills I gained
during my military service have been
instrumental in my ability to effectively assist
and advocate for our members, both under
Title 5 and Title 38. I have successfully
mitigated a multitude of cases for both our Title
5 and Title 38 members, ensuring their rights
are protected and their concerns are
addressed. I have also had the privilege of
receiving professional training in union
representation from national and district AFGE
trainers.
Beyond my AFGE training, I hold an Associate
in Arts degree and a Bachelor’s in Business
Administration. I am currently pursuing a
Master of Fine Arts degree.
I am looking forward to serving our members
as the 1st Vice President (P) of AFGE Local
96. Together, we can continue to advocate for
our rights and enhance the support provided to
those we serve.
